Alex Opoku Manu and Benjamin Eyram Nana Kwame Degbey of Saint James Seminary SHS, Sunyani, were recognised for their outstanding achievement in the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The students made Ghana proud by finishing first and second, respectively. Odigigbo Chioma Blessing of Nigeria finished third.
The award ceremony took place from March 13 to 17 in Banjul, Gambia, as part of the West African Examination Council’s (WAEC) 71st annual council conference.
Dr. Eric Nkansah, the director-general, attended the meeting with Ghana’s team, which included Father Owusu Sekyere, Headmaster of Opoku Ware School.
Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of Gambia, formally started the five-day programme.
