Inflation has reduced to 41.2% for the month of April 2023. This is a 3.8 percentage point decline from the March 2023 figure of 45.0%.
This was reflected in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) statistics issued on Wednesday by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
According to the report, food inflation was 48.7% and non-food inflation was 35.4%.
Government Statistician Professor Samuel Kobina Annim stated that the Western North area had the greatest food inflation in April, at 78.3%, while the Volta region had the lowest inflation.
Inflation for domestically manufactured goods was 38.2%, while inflation for imported goods was 43.1%.
In April 2023, the month-on-month inflation rate was 2.4%. Food and alcoholic beverage inflation was the greatest at 4.3%, while non-food inflation was 0.7%.
