The Office of the Special Prosecutor has pledged to keep Ghanaians updated on its investigations into the stolen money controversy involving former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
“The OSP is still conducting its investigation. The public will be briefed on the outcome of the investigation when it is concluded, including any further steps the Office may take,” the office noted in a tweet posted on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
The OSP has taken a variety of measures and actions, including arresting Ms. Dapaah and conducting searches at two residential addresses linked to her.
The OSP launched an investigation into the former minister when news surfaced of her two housekeepers being hauled to court for allegedly taking $1 million, $300,000 Euros, several million of Ghana cedis, and other belongings from Ms. Dapaah and her husband’s property.
Madam Dapaah was later detained by the Special Prosecutor, and the former minister’s two residences were searched.
She was later released on bail.
Following the controversy, Cecilia Dapaah presented her resignation to the president over the weekend.
