The majority in Parliament has stated that the administration will commission the first 50 of the Agenda 111 hospitals by the middle of next year.
President Akufo-Addo will launch the plan on August 17, 2021, to build 111 district hospitals around the country to improve access to healthcare.
In his argument on the 2024 Budget, Patrick Boakye Yiadom, Vice Chairman of Parliament’s Health Committee, stated that the health facilities would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“Mr. Speaker, by the middle of next year, I am not bragging; we will commission the first 50 of these Agenda 111 hospitals,” remarked the speaker.
“Mr. Speaker, when the hospitals are completed, they will not only employ thousands of doctors, nurses, and others, but they will also create jobs in the districts.” “The hospitals will provide 24-hour care,” he said.
