The Ghana Education Service (GES), has revealed that 538,399 of the 547,329 candidates who took the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have qualified for school placement.
This was disclosed after GES announced that school placement for 2022 BECE graduates into Senior High Schools and Technical, Vocational, Education, and Training (TVET) have been released across the country.
According to the Ghana Education Service, candidates can now check their schools by logging into the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
372,780 students have been automatically assigned to various schools.
However, 165,601 candidates will have to self-place because they were not matched to their preferred school.
Director General of the GES, Dr. Eric Nkansah, told the media that first-year students are expected to report to school on February 20 to begin their admission processes.
The GES Director General also urged the public not to “fall prey to deceptive individuals who may approach them to pay money for placement in SHSs.”
