Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has refused to grant the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) request to disqualify Justice Edward Twum from all cases involving the OSP that are currently before him.
“By a letter dated 25 October 2023, the Judicial Secretary informed the Special Prosecutor that the Chief Justice is unable to accede to the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) request for his Lordship Justice Edward Twum to be recused and removed from all cases involving the OSP pending before him,” the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) said
Meanwhile, the OSP charges involving former Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Cecilia Abena Dapaah have been postponed until Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
This was awaiting the chief justice’s instructions.
The OSP is in court over the former minister’s disclosure of assets.
The OSP has again filed an application in the same court, requesting that the former Minister’s accounts be frozen for a second time.
Previously, the court denied the OSP’s request to freeze the former minister’s assets.
The court ruled that the OSP filed the application late, among other things.
