The Ghana Education Service (GES) has expelled eight female students from the Chiana Senior High School in the Upper East Region’s Kassena-Nankana West District for making disparaging remarks about President Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to the GES statement, the second-year students used vulgar and unprintable words on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a viral video late last year.
The students were expelled after an investigation into the case.
The students had been suspended prior to their dismissal.
The GES described the students’ behavior as “very undesirable,” and contrary to the acceptable standards of conduct generally required of any student in Ghana’s educational system, in the dismissal letter addressed to their parents.
