Sadiq Gariba, a radio host with Tamale-based Dagbon FM, was reportedly verbally and physically abused by a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Northern Regional Communications Officer, Hardi Pagzaa, during a live radio programme.
Mr. Pagazaa and another man were seen invading the Dagbon Radio studio in a video that went viral on social media.
The two men grabbed the presenter, who was conducting a show at the time and threatened to smack him if he made a comment.
The presenter then rose up and followed the assailants out of the studio.
The event occurred on World Press Freedom Day, which was celebrated on Wednesday.
Sadiq Gariba, the victim, told the media that he criticised the NDC communicator for discussing the Abudu and Andani feud on a campaign platform.
Mr. Pagazaa, according to Gariba, did not take his remarks well and decided to assault him in the studio.
