Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim constituency, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah has donated 15 Dell computers to some public basic schools in the constituency. The donation was in response to requests from the schools.
The beneficiary schools include Anaji Estates Primary, Whindo M.A. Primary, Whindo Methodist Primary, Myouhaung Barracks, and Municipal Education Office.
In an interview with OilCity Radio, he stated that: “It is my hope that these computers will be put to good use and help improve the quality of teaching and learning in these schools.”
Present at the brief ceremony were the Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Catherine Biney, and Heads of respective schools and students.
Renowned for his contributions to Ghana’s education and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sectors, Dr Armah, through The Dr. Prince H. Armah Foundation (DPHAF), organised an intensive three-month ICT training program aimed at enhancing the career prospects and global competitiveness of residents in the Kwesimintsim Constituency, by equipping participants with contemporary ICT skills.
According to the Kwesimintsim MP, the proliferation of digital technologies, if properly leveraged, has the potential to curb the high prevalence of youth unemployment in Ghana and across the globe.
