The Black Princesses captain, Evelyn Badu is delighted to have picked up two awards at the Morocco-hosted 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards.
Following her great performance in the first CAF Women’s Champions League, which was hosted in Egypt, the former Hasaacas Ladies forward earned the CAF Young Player of the Year and Inter-Club Player of the Year trophies.
After leading the Ghanaian team to the final of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League, the teenage player scored five goals to claim the golden boot and be named the competition’s queen.
The 19-year-old was unable to travel to Morocco for the awards ceremony on Thursday night because of her engagement in camp.
Badu is in national team camp preparing ahead of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup to be staged in Costa Rica.
The 19-year-old was instrumental in helping Hasaacas Ladies win every domestic championship before dominating West Africa in the WAFU tournament.
She was said to be the goal queen when Hasaacas Ladies advanced to the finals of the first CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt last year.
