The attacks on Israel by terrorists of Hamas have been denounced by the Ghanaian government.
This comes in the wake of recent events in Israel, during which Hamas fighters from the Gaza Strip infiltrated southern Israel and attacked defenceless Israeli residents amidst a barrage of rocket assaults from the Gaza Strip.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Foreign Affairs Ministry stated that “Ghana unequivocally condemns the attacks and demands on the Hamas leadership to immediately cease the attacks and withdraw its terrorists from southern Israel.
While reiterating its support for Israel’s right to exist and to self-defense, Ghana urges prudence on the part of the Israeli government in its response to Hamas attacks.
It used the occasion to urge both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian issue to resume talks.
