The Ghana Education Service (GES) has ordered the headmaster and senior housemaster of Tamale’s Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO) to step aside for investigation.
This comes after a widely circulated video showed students in the school using toilet cubicles as dormitories.
The video has gone viral on social media, causing concern among parents and the general public.
According to the GES, the school has enough capacity to accommodate an additional 300 students, but only 1467 of the 1790 vacancies declared by the school have been filled.
In a statement, the GES stated that students sleeping in such a place was thus unacceptable.
