Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, an aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for the Kwesimintsim Constituency, has in an interview last weekend on Radio 360 thrown a challenge to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Honour Joseph Mensah to a debate so as to offer delegates a unique opportunity to assess them in helping them make informed choices. However, his contender, Honour Joseph Mensah has conspicuously gone silent on the challenge thrown to him by Dr. Armah.
The Kwesimintsimobserver.com in monitoring the radio discussion, Dr. Armah is quoted to have requested for an open debate with his contender by saying that “I think that the people of Kwesimintsim need to be given the opportunity to assess the two candidates and for them (delegates) to decide”.
Dr. Armah, a highly revered and accomplished academic, a dedicated party member of the New Patriotic Party in the Kwesimintsim Constituency, and the Executive Secretary for the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) is tipped by many political watchers of the Kwesimintsim Constituency to win the two-horse race come April, 25th, based on the checks done by the Kwesimintsimobserver.com. The reasons offered by many delegates suggested that Dr. Armah has got the right leadership temperaments, intellectual and professional acumen, unifying all the rank and file of the party in the constituency, remains a true grassroots and party man, and has demonstrated his willingness to see to the development of Kwesimintsim.
It has been five days now since the challenge was thrown, but the deafening silence by the incumbent suggest that he may have been caught by the long hands of accountability, a principle he before assuming office promised the good people of Kwesimintsim. Could it be that the debate challenge would further expose how unpopular he has become among the delegates and the constituents in general? Or that the huge political stature and influence of Dr. Armah in the constituency scares him away as he senses a looming defeat?
Whatever may be his reasons yet for not responding to the challenge, the Kwesimintsimobserver.com would keep you updated.
