The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has stated that it has no plans in place with a rumoured consultant for fans travelling to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
This follows a report that the Ghana Mission in Qatar was pledging to support fans.
However, the ministry stated in a statement released Thursday, July 7, 2022, that it has not established ties with one Harriet Gyamfuah, who claims to be the Public Relations (PR) Consultant of the Ghana Mission in Qatar.
It also cautioned the public not to engage with her, either with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 or on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry noted that the Ministry of Youth and Sports had already appointed Kenpong Travel & Tours Company as the official travel agency for the 2022 World Cup, and advised the general public to contact the company if they planned to travel to Qatar for the World Cup.
While assuring its commitment to maintaining Ghana-Qatar friendly relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration wishes to advise the public to follow the directives issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
