The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer candidate, John Dramani Mahama, says the party is unconcerned over Bryan Acheampong’s declaration that the NPP will never cede power to the NDC.
Mr. Mahama told party delegates at the Akuapem North and South Constituencies in the Eastern region on Tuesday that regardless of the NPP’s approach, the NDC will not downplay the role of God in the 2024 elections.
According to him, God had already chosen the outcome of the 2024 elections, and no one can change it no matter what they do.
“Don’t pay attention to some of the things being said by some people, because it is God’s plan, I go to Church and I have faith that when I kneel and pray, God speaks to me sometimes. God told me that it is our time, and He has already given us the power”.
“When God speaks, no one can change it so let’s continue to pray and believe in Ghanaians that whatever God has put in place will come to pass.”
The former president is on a three-day campaign tour in the Eastern Region. As part of the journey, he met with Okere representatives and branch executives.
The former President also urged party supporters to maintain a respectable campaign and rather rally behind whoever is successful in the 2024 elections.
Likewise, the National Democratic Congress’s Eastern Regional Executives have proclaimed their support for the former President ahead of the party’s legislative and presidential contests.
Addressing branch executives from Okere and Akuapem North and South constituencies in Akropong, NDC Eastern regional chairman Mark Oliver Kevor offered complete support for the former president, saying Mr. Mahama had already been tried and proven.
