Members of parliament are expected to return to the House today for an emergency sitting.
The recall followed a petition by the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, demanding that the session examine pending government business.
The Majority Leader’s petition referenced Article 112(3) and Order 53 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, which allow 15% of House members to request the recall of Parliament.
The Majority Caucus intends to handle critical government business matters, such as adopting the Appointments Committee’s Thirty-Fourth Report, which will include the approval of the President’s new Ministers, and a move on a $150 million credit facility.
