A lifeless newborn baby was discovered inside a box near a gutter at a dumping site near Accra’s Tesano Cluster of Schools.
Students from the school who had gone to relieve themselves made the discovery.
The police arrived at the scene as soon as they received the report and took custody of the baby.
When OilCity Radio arrived at the scene, it was confirmed that the police had taken custody of the deceased baby.
In an interview with OilCity Radio an eyewitness named Regan Cudjoe expressed deep concern about the incident.
He mentioned that the baby’s box had the name “Linda” written on it, which added to the unsettling nature of the discovery.
“One of the boys here informed us that there was a baby here, and we investigated and discovered that the baby was not crying and that it was dead. It’s very concerning that someone would bring a baby and simply leave it in front of our door.”
