Tolon Senior High School administration has ordered nearly 600 pupils to return home following a fire that destroyed one of their dormitories.
The cause of the fire, according to authorities, is unknown. Fire officials have begun their investigation into the incident that occurred in the girls’ dormitory.
Mohammed Issifu, the school’s headmaster, told the media that the children had been provided temporary housing within the community as they prepare to leave.
He stated that the students are anticipated to return in a week after authorities establish interim accommodations, such as transforming certain classrooms into dormitory buildings.
The upper half of the girls’ dormitory has been entirely burned and destroyed.
The assembly has a compound house in town, and we’re looking into whether we can turn any classrooms into student housing within the constraints of the school.
“The school has not been shuttered, but kids have been requested to go home temporarily and return within a week,” he stated.
