An official three-day visit to the Upper West Region by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will commence later today.
He is expected to inspect ongoing initiatives and cut sod for the construction of few roadways in the region.
The president’s schedule also includes an interview with Radio Upper West, followed by a courtesy call on the Wa-Na today, August 22, 2022.
Following a courtesy call on the Nandom Na, Akufo-Addo will depart Wa to Lambussie to inspect the Agenda 111 Project, have a radio interview, after which he will cut the sod for the dualisation of the roads in Nandom Town.
In the evening, the President will return to Wa to meet with MMDCEs, regional executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), and constituency chairmen.
On Tuesday, August 23, the President will inspect the ongoing Wa Shopping Centre and later proceed to the Daffiama-Bussie-Isa Constituency to pay a courtesy call on the Isa Na as well as inspect the ongoing Isa Agenda 111 project.
He would also travel to Kaleo and Wechiau to commission the Kaleo Solar Power Project in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency and inspect the Agenda 111 projects in the Wa West Constituency before departing for Damongo, the Savannah Region’s capital.
The Upper West Region leadership of the New Patriotic Party had threatened to boycott the president’s visit after accusing regional minister Hafiz Bin Salih of excluding them from the tour’s planning.
They later smoked the peace pipe and urged their members to give the president their full support as he begins the tour.
