The Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Arthur Osei-Akoto, and a team from his Command visited the Bisa Aberwa Museum in Nkotumpo, Sekondi, on Thursday, February 2.
They were greeted by Ms. Araba Ghansah, Senior Tour Guide at the museum, as well as officials from the Ghana Tourism Authority’s Western regional office and the assemblyman for the Nkotumpo Electoral Area.
DCOP Osei-Akoto and his team assured management of their determination to ensure the safety of tourists and visitors to the museum and other places of interest in the region after viewing the variety of exhibits.

The Police Commander stated that the facilities and communities that house them will be kept safe in order to promote tourism in the region.
During their visit, the Police team met and interacted with acclaimed Ghanaian poet and author, Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, who was also on a tour of the museum.
The Bisa Aberwa Museum is located in Sekondi, close to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital. It was dedicated in July 2019 and serves as a valuable resource for those interested in the rich diversity of black cultural heritage.
It acknowledges and celebrates the accomplishments of black people worldwide in fields such as visual arts, crafts, literature, performance arts, film, music, sports, medicine, science, and other fields.
